WhatsApp Bot Terms of Use

1. Scope
These terms apply to your use of the Hia Medical Translator WhatsApp bot. By messaging the bot, you agree to these terms and the WhatsApp bot privacy policy.
2. Educational use only
The bot provides educational language support for medical terms. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and must not be used as a substitute for professional care.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use the bot for illegal activity, abuse, spam, or attempts to disrupt service.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to systems, logs, or user data.
- Do not rely on bot responses as the sole basis for clinical decisions.
We may use technical controls to detect suspicious automated or abusive behavior (for example repeated invalid inputs or abnormal usage patterns). This can result in temporary restrictions or permanent suspension for repeated violations. If you believe access was restricted in error, contact privacy@hiamedicaltranslator.com for review.
4. Availability and changes
We may update, limit, or discontinue bot features at any time, including command behavior, response formats, or subscription-related functionality.
5. Third-party platforms
The bot operates through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and backend providers (such as Supabase, OpenAI for term enrichment, and ElevenLabs for pronunciation audio on our servers). Your use is also subject to those third-party terms and policies.
Pronunciation audio: synthesized via ElevenLabs for educational use only — not diagnosis or treatment. Do not rely on audio alone for clinical decisions.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the bot is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the bot.
7. Termination
You may stop using the bot at any time. We may restrict or terminate access where needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service discontinuation.
